Our valuable trustees provide governance and support to the Whakatipu Youth Trust and bring a wealth of experience & expertise to the table.

Joel

“I believe in building up and working alongside youth to help them learn and grow. The Whakatipu Youth Trust is a big part of making this happen in our local community. I see this as a privilege to be a part of”

Jan

“I worked closely with the Whakatipu Youth Trust for over ten years and became a Trustee in order to become more directly involved in the work the Trust does with our youth in the community. I believe the programmes undertaken by our youth workers are making a huge difference to the young people and the results achieved by them confirm this”

Tanya

“I have been involved with the Whakatipu Youth Trust since 2001. I chaired the Trust for 10 years before stepping back to a Trustee role. The Trust has grown in response to the needs of the Whakatipu and I am proud of what we have achieved over the years. I am passionate about the work of the Trust and its efforts to make a positive difference to the lives of local youth in our community”

Wayne

“I have worked in the youth sector for over 20 years in Queenstown and became a Trustee in 1999. Contributing to Youth in a healthy and positive way is extremely rewarding. The young people of the Whakatipu are a great bunch and it is pleasurable watching them grow into well rounded adults. Being a trustee on the Whakatipu Youth Trust enables me to contribute to this transition”

Caitlin

“I grew up in Queenstown and went to both Queenstown Primary School and Whakatipu High School. I got involved with a lot of the activities that the Youth Trust organised with the High School, especially the Leadership Summit. After studying in Dunedin for 5 years, I came back to Queenstown and joined the Whakatipu Youth Trust as a trustee. I have now come full circle and I am really enjoying seeing how the Trust works to support so many young people in our community. I have seen how valuable the Trust’s initiatives are first hand as a ‘youth’, and I am excited to keep the momentum going and support the amazing work that our youth workers do”

Stacey

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of what the Whakatipu Youth Trust provides for the youth in our community. Being a trained secondary teacher, I appreciate the work that the Trust is able to do catering for the diverse needs of young people. It is exciting to see the growth and success of the trust over a wide range of initiatives”

Rachel

“I’m proud to be the newest trustee appointed for the Whakatipu Youth Trust, while acting as the Trust’s bookkeeper in my spare time.  With having three school-aged daughters I have an enormous appreciation and respect for the work that our Youth Workers do.  It’s an incredible comfort to know that the Trust exists for the young people of our community and I’m grateful to our whole team for the collective efforts in providing such a valuable community resource.”

Kate

“With two school aged daughters, and a background in Human Resources I am enjoying the opportunity to support the Whakatipu Youth Trust to better the region for our rangatahi. The WYT team are passionate about supporting our youth, and are such a valuable support for our community.”

Lisa

I’m privileged to be appointed as a trustee for the Whakatipu Youth Trust, as Councillor for the Queenstown Lakes District Council. I’ve lived in Queenstown most of my adult life, as a Human Resource Advisor with a passion to Nourish Talent. Raising three daughters, recruiting and training rangatahi for many iconic local workplaces means navigating some gritty stuff. Supporting the Trust to thrive, creating opportunities for youth alongside this fantastic team of people, youth workers and staff is a dream assignment.
